Distressed wood floors.
Distressed flooring evokes the history of wood flooring in America. Once hardwood floors were from trees cut nearby, hand scraped and worn smooth over time. Distressed wood floors call up that period. Nail holes may be visible as wood was reused, making this flooring the original 'green' alternative.
Heart pine, country fine.
Heart pine adds authentic warm to country decor. Heartpine is the real heart wood of a pine tree. Pine trees were larger in years past, and that part of the tree was made into flooring. It is dark in color, resists decay and is more stable than lighter sapwood. Currently heart pine is available from recent source trees or reclaimed wood.
